Files as attachments
It turns out that this is the third post about document links. They all show pretty much the same things. This is a link to a file in the /media library. The file was uploaded and the link was created by “Add Media”

Next, the same link was created as an attachment to the post via ‘Add Media’. This constructs a child post dedicated to the file. It would be nice if this child could link to a viewer, or even better if I could ’embed-any-document’; but this doesn’t happen. Instead, the child post consists of a link for you to download the file. The child post is created automatically, and so far I don’t know how to add/modify the contents.
